2021/22 Final Operating Grants

Government is providing an additional $320 million in operating grants to school districts in 2021/22 for a total of $5.853 billion. 

The ministry is increasing the basic per-student allocation for standard, alternate and continuing education schools by 4.3% for 2021/22.

Other changes include:

  • An additional $69.6 million for students with special needs, an 11.1% increase.
  • An additional $7.5 million in the Indigenous Education Targeted Funding, an 8.2% increase.
  • An additional $3.7 million for English and French Language Learners (ELL/FLL), a 3.6% increase.
