The Bulkley Timber Supply Area (TSA) lies in the eastern drainage of the Skeena River within the North Area, Skeena Natural Resource Region. It covers approximately 736,000 hectares and includes the communities of Smithers, Telkwa, Moricetown and Fort Babine. The TSA is administered by the Skeena Stikine Natural Resource District.
Under Section 8(5) of the Forest Act the chief forester in determining an AAC can specify a portion of the AAC that is attributable to certain types of timber, terrain, or areas of the TSA.
On January 29, 2014, the AAC for the Bulkley TSA was 852,000 cubic metres with partitions of 520,000 cubic metres for sawlog stands and 362,000 cubic metres for marginal sawlog and pulpwood stands.
Effective June 18, 2025, the Bulkley TSA the allowable annual cut (AAC) is 833,268 cubic metres, accounting for First Nation Woodlands Licence (FNWL) N2M AAC adjustment.
Bulkley TSA covers approximately 736,000 hectares and includes the Town of Smithers.
