Dawson Creek Timber Supply Area

Last updated on June 12, 2026

The Dawson Creek Timber Supply Area (TSA) covers about 2.3 million hectares in northeastern British Columbia.  Communities within the TSA include Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Hudson’s Hope and Tumbler Ridge.  It is administered by the Province’s Peace Natural Resource District office in Dawson Creek.

Current Allowable Annual Cut (AAC)

Effective June 20, 2024, the AAC for the Dawson Creek TSA is 1,791,846 cubic metres, of which a maximum of 928,722 cubic metres is attributable to conifers.

A major expansion of Klinse-za Park, located west of Chetwynd and Hudson’s Hope in northeastern B.C., will better protect sacred sites and wildlife habitat, and contribute to the goal of protecting 30% of lands in B.C. by 2030.

The expanded Klinse-za/Twin Sisters Park (pronounced Klin-see’-za) will protect nearly 200,000 hectares of land, including two mountains known locally as the Twin Sisters, which are an area of cultural and spiritual significance for Treaty 8 First Nations.

Effective June 20, 2024, the new AAC for W0263 is 1336 cubic metres.
