Merritt Timber Supply Area

Last updated on April 28, 2026

The Merritt Timber Supply Area (TSA) covers about 1.13 million hectares in British Columbia’s southwest interior. Merritt and Princeton are the largest communities in the TSA. Smaller centres include Tulameen, Brookmere, Missezula Lake, Douglas Lake, Lower Nicola, Osprey Lake and Allison Lake.

The Merritt TSA is part of the Thompson-Okanagan Natural Resource Region and is administered by the Cascades Natural Resource District.

As of March 30, 2021 the AAC becomes 1,200,000 cubic metres. Generally, a new AAC is set at least once every 10 years.

  • AAC Adjustment Technical Report (PDF, 700KB)  The Technical Report provides background information, details of the AAC adjustment process, outlines key issues, and a summary of the joint recommendations. The report will provide the province’s chief forester with information required to determine the AAC– the maximum volume of timber available for harvest from the TSA – until the next determination, likely following the completion of the Cascades Forest Landscape Plan currently underway. Members of the public can review the technical report from April 28 – May 29, 2026
