Great Bear Rainforest North Timber Supply Area

The Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) North Timber Supply Area (TSA) is created from the former North Coast and Mid Coast TSAs. The Great Bear Rainforest North TSA's current allowable annual cut  (AAC) is 803,000 cubic metres as of January 1, 2017.

Current Timber Supply Review

The Great Bear Rainforest (Forest Management) Act and regulations came into effect January 1, 2017. 

Under the regulations, the North Coast, Mid Coast, Kingcome and Strathcona TSAs are replaced by the new and reconfigured Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) North TSA, Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) South TSA and North Island TSA.

The following timber supply areas (TSAs) are abolished:

  • North Coast TSA #21
  • Mid Coast TSA #19
  • Kingcome TSA #33
  • Strathcona TSA #37
