What started out as a small business, making gourmet jams and spicy jellies and selling them at local farmer’s markets, soon turned into a much larger production in 2013.

Saunders

With their varieties of jams (Strawberry/Rhubarb, Strawberry, Raspberry, Saskatoon Berry, Peach) and spicy jellies (Raspberry Pepper, Cranberry Jalapeño, Blackberry Pepper, Pineapple Jalapeño, Spicy Sour Cherry), buyers will recognize the value of products that are gluten and sulphite free with no added preservatives or colours developed in an area flourishing in natural produce. The products are shelf stable with an expiry date of 24 months.

All of Saunders Family Farm products are processed and manufactured in the eastern region of B.C. They do their best to source ingredients locally when possible, getting the majority of fruit from the Okanagan and Lower Mainland areas of B.C.

Saunders Family Farm is committed to producing food in compliance with all regulatory and Canadian Food Inspection Agency  program requirements. They have implemented written policies, procedures, and a record-keeping system in accordance with the principles of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point). All suppliers and inputs are pre-qualified and documentation for traceability begins at the point of receiving.

The Saunders Family has been farming in the East Kootenays for six generations. They feel being active in the local community is their social responsibility, and they want to give back whenever they can to a community that has supported their business and watched them grow over the years.
