Traffic impacts
- Traffic management plan will be in place to minimize disruption to traffic
- No detours
- Single-lane alternating traffic will only occur at night
- Traffic will remain open to two lanes during the day

The project will provide improved safety and traffic flow for drivers, pedestrians and people cycling or rolling in the area, better access to Saseenos Elementary School, and support future economic development opportunities for T’Sou-ke First Nation.
The project includes:
- New signalized four-way intersection on Highway 14 at Idlemore Street with pedestrian crosswalks
- About 700 metres of asphalt resurfacing between Parkland Road and Edward Milne Road
- Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening on Highway 14 from Edward Milne Road to Parkland Road
- Edward Milne Road access to the highway will be closed off
- Access to the Petro Can gas station and Tim Hortons will be available via the Sooke River Road intersection
- Construction of curb and gutter with paved sidewalks (both sides of the road)
- New left turn slots on Highway 14 at Idlemore Road, Kaltasin Road/Saseenos Road and Parkland Road to improve safety
- Creation of parent parking lot for student drop-off and pick-up at Saseenos Elementary School
- Improved school bus access and egress between Highway 14 and Saseenos Elementary School yard
- Improved BC Transit bus stops for both eastbound and westbound directions
Status
- Vegetation clearing and utility pole installations have been completed (April 2025)
- Tender scheduled for late summer 2025
- Construction anticipated to begin fall 2025 (subject to timing of land acquisition from School District 62)
