Highway 1 Kamloops brake check construction progress 2026-02-06

The project intends to expand and improve the eastbound scale and brake check and the westbound scale and CVSE inspection areas to better support trucking operations, with a focus on safety, improved lighting, and upgraded washroom facilities.

Traffic impact

During construction:

  • Scales and brake check will remain operational
  • There may be limited space and extended queues
  • Existing washrooms will be closed for construction
  • There will be short term disruptions or closures
  • Inspection Areas may be temporarily relocated on site
  • Commercial vehicles are requested to drive ahead and make use of the entire brake check lane as per the signage on site. The left lane is for through traffic only.
