An active transportation bridge across Tillicum Road will provide a safer and more seamless commute for people walking and rolling (for example, using a bicycle, wheelchair or mobility scooter) along the Galloping Goose Regional Trail.
During the construction period, the Galloping Goose Regional Trail will be detoured to the shoulder lane of the Trans-Canada Highway.

The detour route will be separated from vehicle traffic by concrete barriers.

An artist’s cross-section of the construction detour. Cross-section is conceptual and subject to change.
Work starts in 2027, with completion expected in fall 2028.
Project budget to be confirmed.

By making it easier to get around without a car, the project will help to support the actions B.C. is taking through CleanBC to lower climate-changing emissions by 30% by 2030.
A public information session was held June 18, 2025.
