Road notices and warnings

Those using Forest Service Roads and other resource roads should do so with caution, drive for the conditions. Back-country travelers should be aware of rapidly changing weather and stream flows which may affect road conditions. Be advised that there may be instances where an event on a road or bridge has not yet been identified. Not all roads have signs or barriers identifying all hazards or dangers.

Celista-Blueberry FSR 0724.06 (June 3, 2026)
The Celista - Blueberry FSR (1025) is open for pick up traffic through to the 670 (Scotch Creek FSR).  Further work will continue through the week, but traffic is passable through the affected areas. 

Use of 2-way radio systems is required: Craigellachie Anstey – Gorge (0839.01) Forest Service Road
Use of 2-way radio systems is required from October 31 to May 1 annually to coordinate the movement of all traffic. This road restriction is established to improve the safety of industrial and recreational traffic during periods of high use. Road users are reminded of their obligations under Section 5 of the Forest Service Road Use Regulation; and the use of a 2-way radio.

Work in progress / upcoming works

Jackpine FSR 7720.04 (October 13 to November 6, 2026)
Jackpine Forest Service Road will be closed at 30.0 km for bridge installation from October 13 to November 6, 2026. There will be no access through the work site during this closure.

Mabel Lake FSR 1111.01 (September 8 to September 22, 2026)
Mabel Lake Forest Service Road users should expect and plan for traffic delays of up to 1-hour from September 8 to September 22, 2026 to accommodate road improvements at 24-Km.

Road closures and restrictions

Bald Range Fire K51490 FSR (August 29, 2026)
The BC Wildfire Service will implement an Area Restriction Order within the vicinity of the Bald Range wildfire (K51490)which originated approximately 15 kilometres west of SummerlandThis Order takes effect at 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on August 29, 2026 and remains in force until the earlier of 12:00 noon PDT on September 12, 2026 or until the Order is rescinded.

This area restriction is being implemented to address public and responder safety and limit public interference in areas where fire suppression activities are taking place. Under this Order and section 11(2) of the Wildfire Act, a person must not remain in or enter the restricted area without the prior written authorization of an official designated for the purposes of the Wildfire Act. Road closed for public safety.

Road closed for public safety.

Ashton Mara East (Skyline) FSR 5143.05 (May 14, 2018)
Road closed.

Bastion Creek FSR 5653.01 (March 2026) 
Northern section of Bastion Creek FSR is closed near the junction with Eagle Bay Road for water control purposes (last 2-Km).

Bear-Stuart FSR 7720-01 (June 5, 2024)
The Bear-Stuart FSR is closed.  The Bridge located at 44-Km (Bridge K1765) is unsafe for use, there is no timeline on a reopening.

Horn Creek FSR 8511.01 (February 17, 2026)
Horn Creek Forest Service Road is closed. This road is not maintained for vehicle access and use. There is no timeline on reopening this road.

Joe Rich FSR 10649.01 (July 5, 2021)
Road closed at 4.2-Km – the road is washed out at this location. No timeline on repairs.

Seymour River FSR 7271.01 (September 15, 2025)
Road is washed-out at 45 km, this includes bridge K1066. Crews are currently assessing the road washout. There is no vehicle access beyond this point. Message is intended for wide distribution. There is no timeline on a reopening for this road.

Scotch - Lamberton FSR 0771.04 (May 14, 2018)
Road closed at 10 km due to slide. No timeline on repairs.

Sugar - Nelson FSR 0905.06 (May 21, 2020)
Road closed at 32 km due to road failure. No timeline on repairs or reopening.

Sugar Lake – Sugar Reiter FSR 0905.02  (June 24, 2022)
Road closed at or near 8 km. The road is washed-out at this location. No timeline on repairs.

Whiteman Creek FSR 8569.01 (May 5, 2023) 
Road closed. This closure does not impact access to the Sugarloaf Forest Service Road which will remain open.

Whiteman Creek - Bouleau FSR 8569.02 (September 10, 2021)
Road closed.

Road deactivation

Cardinal FSR 8690.01 - retired as of December 7, 2017

Kobau Lookout FSR 8317.01 – retired as of May 20, 2026
