2007: Relocation of the Burnaby Youth Custody Services
Last updated on October 1, 2019Burnaby Youth Custody Services (BYCS) was previously located on the outdated Willingdon site which was in need of replacement. The facility was relocated to a renovated site on the grounds of the former B.C. Correctional Center for Women (B.C.CW) in November 2007. The new location provided for co-location with Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services, expanded outdoor and program space, individual rooms for youth, and modernized safety and security features.
