- Early 1990s: Specialization and integration of family justice services
- Late 1990s: Pilot projects to centralize justice service delivery to families
- 1996 to 1997: Duties of family justice counsellors and probation officers are separated
- 2001: Family Justice Services Division is transferred to the Justice Services Branch, Ministry of Attorney General
