The following section describes upgrades in previous releases and, where applicable, links to additional information and functionality.

What's New?

  • All Navigation Trees no longer display an expand arrow (>) next to nodes which do not have child nodes.
  • In the Content Navigation Tree, the Nav Title is now displayed, rather than the use of the Title.
  • The Content Navigation Pane Action menu has been resorted to bundle actions.
  • The [Delete] action button in now Red and has been placed to the far right of the following panes:
  • Help text has been added to the Metadata and Tags tabs to assist with the creation of metadata.
  • The ability to embed videos from government streaming service has been included.
  • Table default settings are auto-populated to adhere to UX standards.
  • The Vocabulary label has been updated to read "Vocabulary\Meta Name" in both the Taxonomy and Tag panes.
  • Plus, 10+ backend fixes to improve speed and stability.

What's New?

  • Home screen functionality has been enhanced to display both Pages and Assets in the Content Status Pane.
    • Filter and preview assets in the same fashion as Content.
  • A "Publish Left Navigation" action item has been added to the Content Navigation Pane which allows for the left navigiation (IA) (as it appears in CMS Lite and QA) to be published to the Production site, without deploying any content changes.
  • The ampersand symbol (&) is now a valid character for use in an Asset Folder name.
  • Improved speed and stability when creating External Links.
  • Improved speed when creating Vocabularies and Terms.
  • Unicode character support - Foreign language character sets - is now available, and can be used in the various Content fields.
    • Note: All content on gov.bc.ca is rendered using the font, Verdana. Some fonts are better suited for specific languages. The ability to choose a font for a foreign language will be addressed in a future release.
  • Fixed the "hiding" text when Right-column Boxes are moved.
  • Plus, 10+ backend fixes to help to improve the product.

  • Improved speed of common tasks - Add/Edit/Delete a page; Upload/Delete assets; Create/Delete asset folders.
  • Improved error handling.
  • Implemented new functionality to allow SYSADMINS to add users to a group from the user management screen.
  • Additional fixes to the "missing content in QA" problem.
  • Parent terms in vocabularies can now have children terms.
  • Assets on www2.gov.bc.ca now have the filename appended to the URL.
  • Security can be applied at any level of the IA. In addition, there is a new role called "SiteAdmin". Please note, we are currently working on the governance model of these two features.
  • Plus, 10+ backend fixes to help to improve the product.

  • Missing content in QA has been fixed.
  • Plus, 30+ backend fixes.
