Closed. Construction beginning in Spring 2025. A landslide that occurred in 2020 remains active and the road is unsafe for public travel through the slide area.
Soda Creek-MacAlister Road is located approximately 45 km north of Williams Lake.
After a comprehensive and technically driven process that began in late 2020, we are proceeding with a plan to re-open Soda Creek-MacAlister Road on its original alignment, with significant road regrading and drainage improvements to ensure safety for road users and maintain community connectivity. This decision follows the completion of extensive planning, technical investigations, and design work over the past three years.
The road remains closed. Notification of pre-construction activities or construction is posted on this page in advance. For the latest information on road conditions, please visit DriveBC.
Preconstruction activities may be seen on Soda Creek-MacAlister Road as early as spring 2024. Once road construction begins, it’s expected to take approximately one construction season to be completed.
The road will remain closed.
