Kalala Organic Estate Winery (Kalala) is an award-winning winery located on the upper bench of beautiful West Kelowna in the Okanagan Valley.
Kalala Organic Estate Winery produces a variety of wines from top-quality, hand-picked, certified organic grapes, including: their popular icewines, such as their port-style Zweigelt Icewine with a velvety texture and balanced acidity, and their 2013 Chardonnay Icewine, which was named the Best Chardonnay in the world at the 2016 Chardonnay du Monde Competition in France; a range of light-to-crisp white wines, including a bright Pinot Gris, a Riesling with pleasant acidity, and their Harmony White blend; as well as bold red wines, including a Pinot Noir with notes of spice, Zweigelt with a slightly spicy finish, and their Harmony Red blend. All wines are B.C. Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) certified, ensuring the wines are high quality and produced to the best standards possible.
Kalala was established in West Kelowna in 2006. The winery’s name means “miracle place,” representing the winery’s commitment to harmony with nature and organic viticulture practices. Kalala is a family-owned and operated business founded by Karnail Singh Sidhu, who is driven by his passion for farming and producing high-quality products at an affordable price. Certified organic in 2010, Kalala’s philosophy is to allow the varietal characteristics and West Kelowna terroir to be truly expressed and enhanced by minimal handling during winemaking.
In 2020, the B.C. Grape Growers’ Association presented its inaugural Viticulturist of the Year award to Karnail. The award is given to individuals in the B.C. grape growing industry who strive to grow the very best wine grapes.
Kalala works with 100% organic vineyards, and its wines were certified organic in 2020 by PACS. The winery also supports organizations such as the JDRF Foundation, Food Bank, and BC Cancer Foundation.
