The objective of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Program (KTTP) is to increase the competitiveness, resiliency, and innovation of the provincial agriculture and food sector through facilitated knowledge and technology transfer.
The KTTP is a cost-shared reimbursement program intended to strategically support B.C.’s producers and processors to innovate and adapt to changing environmental, production, and market conditions through practical, applied knowledge and skill development to ensure behaviour change.

Funding for the fall 2024 intake will be allocated on a first come, first served basis for all eligible completed applications.
The fall 2024 intake opened on September 9, 2024 and closed on December 13, 2024. Please be aware that there is no guarantee you will receive funding after submitting an application to this program.
Total cost-shared eligible amount: up to $1,500 (applicant must demonstrate cost-sharing contributions through cash or in-kind donation).

When will I hear back about my application?
Applicants will be notified within six to eight weeks of submission of a completed application. Funding for the fall 2024 intake was allocated on a first come, first served basis for all eligible completed applications. There is no guarantee of receiving funding completing an application to this program.
Can we change the date of our activity, or confirm the date later?
Yes, if your activity date falls between the eligible period dates. For KTTP Intake 2, the eligible period is November 1, 2024 to March 9, 2025. Please email the program at knowledge.transfer@gov.bc.ca to confirm any changes.
We do not have a BCeID Basic or Business account. Can we use someone else’s BCeID account?
Please use your own BCeID account. You can create a free BCeID in a few minutes through this online form. There are no fees or prerequisites. The reimbursement process will be tied to the BceID used for the application.
The application form requires an agenda, but we haven’t finalized our agenda yet. What should I submit?
Your agenda can be a simple draft at the application stage. Please do your best to outline what your activity will include, and how long each portion will take. You can use the KTTP agenda template on the KTTP webpage.
Can I change something in my application after I’ve submitted it?
No, you won’t be able to edit your application once it has been submitted. If you have concerns about your application, please email the program inbox at knowledge.transfer@gov.bc.ca.
Can my organization submit more than one application?
Yes, applicants can submit more than one application per intake.
Are individual farmers and ranchers eligible for the program?
Individual farmers are not eligible for the KTTP. Courses to train staff are not eligible under this program. Please see the program guide for more details on eligibility.
Are 4-H groups eligible for the program?
4-H groups are not eligible for the KTTP. Not-for-profits are eligible if their primary goal is to support farmers and food processors. See the program guide for more details on eligibility.
Are post-secondary institutions eligible for the program?
Post-secondary institutions are not eligible for the KTTP; however, they can partner with an agriculture and food industry association or another eligible applicant to deliver an event. See the program guide for more details on eligibility.
Is there flexibility between eligible expenses and how the funding is used? What if our budget changes from what we submitted in our application? Can we reallocate the approved amount between different expenses, as long as we stick to the 75 percent cost-share?
Does the program cover childcare for parents attending our event?
Yes, this is an eligible expense as part of our support for more inclusive events. Refer the applicant to eligible activity costs section of the program guide.
Can we apply for funding for multiple stops on a tour, or is the funding intended to cover just one event on one farm?
Yes, an event series is eligible. If approved, receipts can be submitted for all eligible expenses incurred over the entire series of events, up to the maximum approved amount .
Can we submit multiple claims for our approved event?
No, multiple claims cannot be submitted for an event. Each KT application allows one reimbursement claim. Please submit your claim once your event has been completed (no later than 30 days after the event).
