The Province’s Enhanced Replant Program (ERP), was launched in November 2024 and is now in its second year of application intakes (fall 2025). Administered by the Investment Agriculture Foundation (IAF), the Province is supporting B.C. fruit and wine producers in replanting their farms, vineyards and orchards with climate-resilient, high-value varieties. The program aims to strengthen local food supply, support regional economies, and ensure a sustainable future for B.C.’s agriculture sector.
The ERP was created to promote the adoption of climate-resilient, high-value fruit varieties and ensure a competitive and sustainable future for the province’s agriculture sector. It is not intended to address gaps covered by other government programs, such as Business Risk Management (BRM), nor is it a response to specific weather events. By focusing on targeted replanting efforts, the program directs resources where they are most needed, complementing existing programs while fostering long-term resilience and growth across the industry.
The Province continues to collaborate closely with industry through the Enhanced Replant Program Advisory Committee (ERPAC) and producer engagement surveys administered by the Investment Agriculture Foundation, who are also delivering the ERP. The next ERPAC meetings are planned for early March 2026.
Industry groups and producers are encouraged to stay informed by reviewing program parameters and updates on the IAF website. This will help stakeholders fully leverage program benefits and understand any changes as they occur.
In its first year, the ERP supported approximately 200 projects, resulting in about 809 renewed hectares (2,000 acres) of unproductive or damaged trees and vines being replanted with in-demand and climate-resilient varieties. The program builds on the success of the previous Perennial Crop Renewal Program and continues to enhance the resilience and competitiveness of B.C.’s fruit and wine sectors.
The Enhanced Replant Program is now live on the Investment Agriculture Foundations (IAF) website.
