TEPARC Analysis

Proposal recommended for approval as a minor program change with conditions. Prior to the start of the cohort's summative practicum, VIU must confirm that:

  • Teacher candidates will not complete their summative practicum in a classroom where they have been teaching
  • Each teacher candidate has not previously been employed at the school
  • The university faculty associate who is supervising the practicum is not an employee of the school

VIU must also submit to the BCTC a summary that documents apparent conflicts of interest and the steps taken to mitigate them. If VIU plans to operationalize the program and offer future cohorts, it must submit a new proposal to the BCTC at least 1 year in advance.
