Schedule of teacher education program reviews

The BC Teachers’ Council (BCTC) carries out the review of the teacher education program using a pre-arranged schedule. 

  • Process C – Ongoing structured dialogue: 2017, 2019, 2024, 2026, 2031 
  • Process D – Maintenance review: 2022, 2028, 2034

Process B - changes to an existing program

Proposed Change The School of Education submitted a proposal to use a blended mode of delivery for all 3 semesters with no more than 40% of any foundational course to be taught online
TEPARC Analysis Proposal recommended for approval as a minor program change
BCTC Decision Approved May 29, 2025

Proposed Change The School of Education proposed to pilot a hybrid delivery model of instruction in Term 1 of its B.Ed. program

Date the BCTC received the Notice of Intent August 8, 2022
Proposed Change The School of Education proposed revisions to its B.Ed. courses, course credits and program structure beginning August 2023. The total program credits and duration remain the same
