First Nations Clean Energy Business Fund Revenue Sharing Agreements

Last updated on May 25, 2022
  • First Nations Clean Energy Business Fund Revenue-sharing Agreements are negotiated between B.C. and First Nations to provide revenue sharing opportunities for clean energy projects.

Section 20 of the Clean Energy Act creates provisions through agreements between the B.C. government and eligible First Nations for revenue-sharing from clean energy projects based on new, net, incremental revenues to government derived from water rentals, land rents and, eventually, wind participation rents in First Nations traditional territories and treaty areas. The First Nations Clean Energy Business Fund Revenue-sharing Agreements are provided as an outcome of the First Nations Clean Energy Business Fund (FNCEBF).
