Current activities

  • Drafting of the final proposed Kitselas Treaty is nearing completion, with Chief Negotiators from all Kitselas, Canada and B.C. initialing the treaty in June 2024.
  • Initialing marks an important milestone in the treaty journey, as it signals the conclusion of substantive negotiations. Initialing is subject to important caveats, including Canada and B.C. fulfilling its duty to consult other First Nations and the completion of a final legal review of the treaty.

Treaty stage

  • Stage 5 - Negotiating to finalize a treaty
