Do I need a Free Miner's Certificate (FMC) to own coal titles or apply for coal titles?

A free miner certificate is NOT required to acquire coal titles.To become a client, simply apply for a coal title and you will be registered as a coal client.

 

Where do I find information on current coal titles in British Columbia?

Mineral Titles Online - MTO is an internet based title administration system where you can search for information about mineral, placer and coal titles in BC.

Can a lien under the Builders Lien Act be registered on a coal title?

No, the Builders Lien Act does not allow for a claim of lien to be registered under the Coal Act.

 

How do I submit my Coal Assessment Report?

Section 8(1) of the Coal Act requires that all coal licencees and lessees submit technical reports pertaining to coal exploration activities on coal licences and coal leases.
