B.C. Trickle Irrigation Manual

Last updated on December 20, 2024

The B.C. Trickle Irrigation Manual provides comprehensive guidance on the design and operation of trickle or drip irrigation systems for B.C. conditions and crops.

The manual covers tape systems, drip emitter systems, and spray emitter systems. It provides designers with information on calculating system flow requirements, plant water requirements, emitter selection and performance, piping design, and filtration systems. The manual includes detailed guidance on irrigation scheduling, water treatment requirements, fertigation methods, and specialized applications like greenhouse and landscape systems.

Topics are organized to follow the same order a designer would use when approaching a system design, with practical examples throughout. A glossary of terms and conversion tables are included to assist users.

Note: This manual does not cover microsprinkler systems, which should follow design principles found in the B.C. Sprinkler Irrigation Manual.
