B.C.’s independent schools offer parents choice in education, with programs from kindergarten to Grade 12. Families often choose them for their unique approaches to education. Independent school authorities  (which operate independent schools) manage their own programs, enrolment, staff, and services. The Ministry of Education and Child Care sets policies, provides funding to eligible schools, and conducts regular inspections to ensure compliance with ministry requirements.
