264th Street to Mt. Lehman Road (Phase 3A)

264th to Mt. Lehman Road Night Paving

This phase of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program involves 13 km of improvements between 264th Street and Mt. Lehman Road. It is currently under construction.

These improvements include:

  • Adding HOV/EV lanes and bus-on-shoulder lanes in each direction
  • Adding truck climbing lanes (eastbound along the uphill grade east of Bradner Rest Area and westbound from east of Fraser Highway)
  • Replacing the existing cloverleaf interchange at 264th Street with a diverging diamond interchange
  • Improving active transportation connections at 264th Street Interchange and Mount Lehman Road Interchange
  • Building a mobility hub at 264th Street Interchange
  • Adding a multi-use-path (MUP) on the north side of Highway 1 between 264th Street Interchange and Mount Lehman Road Interchange
  • Replacing Bradner Road Overpass
  • Improving Bradner Rest Area

Objectives

These improvements are designed to:

  • Reduce Highway 1 congestion
  • Eliminate low clearance issues for commercial vehicles on the corridor
  • Improve safety and capacity at high-traffic intersections
  • Improve access to affordable and sustainable modes of transportation, including buses, ridesharing, walking, biking, and rolling
  • Support CleanBC through HOV/EV lanes
  • Support increased use of Highway 1 transit services by improving transit travel times and reliability
  • Facilitate efficient goods movement through the corridor

Cost

The Province of B.C. is funding these $2.34 billion improvements.
