Improvements to the Mt. Lehman Road interchange underway

Construction is underway on the Mt. Lehman Road Interchange Project, which includes widening the existing bridge from three to five lanes.

Project highlights

  • Widening the existing bridge structure from 3 to 5 lanes
  • Adding a new southbound lane
  • Adding a new northbound left-turn lane to Highway 1 westbound
  • Adding a multi-use-path on the east side of the bridge that will connect to a new multi-use path parallel to the highway
  • Improved lighting
  • Completing seismic upgrades to the Mt. Lehman and Fraser Highway overpass structures
  • Addition of bus-on-shoulder lanes eastbound and westbound on Highway 1

Status

The Mt. Lehman Road Interchange Project is in construction. Anticipated completion 2028.

Cost

The contract value for the Mt Lehman Interchange Project is $104 million.

The contract was awarded to Hall Jacob JV.
