The Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program is improving safety, reliability and capacity between 216th Street in Langley through to Chilliwack. Widening and other highway improvements will meet the needs of a growing region, improve travel and transit services for people in the Fraser Valley and facilitate efficient goods movement.

This phase of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program involved 4 km of improvements between 202nd Street and 216th Street. It was completed in September 2020.

This phase of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program involves 10 km of improvements between 216th Street and 264th Street. It is currently under construction.

This phase of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program involves 13 km of improvements between 264th Street and Mt. Lehman Road. It is currently under construction.

This phase of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program involves improvements to 8 km of Highway 1 from Mt. Lehman Road to Highway 11. It is currently in procurement and detailed design.

This phase of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program involves improvements to 18 km of Highway 1 from Highway 11 through the Sumas Prairie. It is currently in integrated planning.

To prepare for major construction, advance works and environmental rehabilitation are underway or completed at various locations along Highway 1 throughout the Program area.
