Effective Strategic Planning Resources

Boards of education and school districts are expected to develop multi-year strategic plans that guide the district’s operations over several years and illustrate a clear focus on improving student learning outcomes.

These resources are intended to support boards of education in the development of strategic plans.

Data Resources

Continuous improvement is driven by data and evidence within the B.C. education sector. Data sets are an important factor to support the ongoing development of students with the system. The Student Success website is a portal for First Nation(s) rights holders, Indigenous Peoples, education partners, and the community, including parents/caregivers and students, to access publicly available data from school districts.

Districts can access additional ministry data sets throughout the year to inform planning and continuous improvement processes to inform the Enhancing Student Learning Report. The data release schedule outlines when ministry data sets are updated throughout the year.
