Road test re-examinations

Last updated on January 11, 2021

RoadSafetyBC may send commercial drivers (class 1-4) and motorcyclists (class 6) for a road test re-examination to help us make a driver medical fitness decision.

ICBC conducts the exams for us. There’s no fee.

We may ask for a road test re-examination for a number of reasons, including:

  • A doctor reported that a medical condition may affect a person’s fitness to drive safely
  • An earlier re-examination suggests further testing is necessary
  • A collision or police report shows a driver may not handle a common driving situation well

See ICBC’s Re-exams for commercial drivers or motorcyclists and COVID-19 information pages for more information.
