The Southeast Fire Centre is located in Castlegar and extends from the U.S. border to Mica Dam and from the Okanagan Highlands/west side of the Monashee Mountains to the B.C./Alberta border.

Prohibition Area Map


BC Wildfire Service prohibitions (fire bans) and restrictions apply to all land described in the legal order. Municipalities are responsible for regulating open fire within their boundaries, so please check with your local government before lighting any fire.

Other restricted activities

As per Section 12 of the Wildfire Act, the following activities and use of equipment, materials and substances are also prohibited within the Prohibition Area:

  • Carbonizers
  • Air Curtain Burners

Current area restrictions 

There are currently no Forest Use restrictions or area restrictions in effect in the Southeast Fire Centre.
