B.C.'s Electric Highway

In September 2024 we completed our "electric highway". It's a network of 155 public EV fast-charging stations. The charging stations are along all highways and major roadways in B.C. and 150 km or less apart. They connect EV drivers to fast-charging networks in Yukon and beyond.

Completing our electric highway fulfilled a key commitment of the CleanBC Roadmap to 2030. This network supports getting more zero-emission vehicles on the road in B.C. It was possible through our partnerships with:

  • The hydrogen industry
  • BC Hydro
  • FortisBC
  • Local governments
  • Industry
  • Academic institutions

Hydrogen fuelling

Hydrogen Fuelling Infrastructure Program

The Hydrogen Fuelling Infrastructure Program provides funding for hydrogen fuelling stations in B.C. Program intake is closed.

This program is administered by the Canadian Hydrogen Association

Reducing barriers for new hydrogen fuelling stations

We funded a guidebook to support the development and permitting of hydrogen fuelling station projects.

Federal funding

The Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) is an alternative to Go Electric charging and hydrogen fuelling programs. ZEVIP funding can't be combined with Go Electric charging infrastructure programs.
