Lowering pollution from marine shipping vessels
Safe passage: B.C. green shipping corridors assessment
This project is researching ways to lower emissions from the shipping sector. Marine shipping is a major source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
- The project's focus is zero- and low-carbon energy options
- They're exploring alternate fuel sources and electrification
Insights from this work inform new policies and the development of standards. This included creating a green shipping sector off the coast of B.C.

Developing the next generation of lithium batteries
Solid-state lithium tellurium-sulfur battery for clean transportation
This project aimed to create a battery cell that is twice as powerful, smaller, safer and cheaper to make.
