Commercial Vehicle Pilots Program

The Commercial Vehicle Pilots (CVP) Program was intended to encourage and accelerate commercial ZEV adoption. It supported using zero-emission vehicle technology in commercial applications in B.C.

Program participants collect vehicle data for a year, then complete surveys and interviews. Vehicle usage data collection is ongoing while funded projects continue.

Who could apply

Public and private fleets for:

  • Businesses
  • Non-profits
  • Local governments
  • Indigenous governments
  • Public sector organizations
  • Eligible public entities

Provincial ministries and crown corporations were excluded from the program.

How it worked

  • Tools were installed in the vehicles to collect data
  • Participants shared data, and completed surveys and interviews about their ZEV use
  • Approved applicants could get up to one-third of total project costs covered

We have data!

Dive into the data to increase your understanding of the operational capabilities of commercial ZEVs. Use what you learn to create a business case for your switch to ZEVs.
