Alerts, closures and warnings
Check fire prohibitions and restrictions for information on campfire rules in your region. Report wildfires by calling 1 800 663-5555 or *5555 from a cell phone.

Seasonal maintenance crews
The Seasonal Maintenance Crew Program provides employment opportunities and work experience for individuals in pursuit of a career in outdoor recreation or natural resource management.
Applications for the 2026 Seasonal Maintenance Crew program are open on the current BC Government job postings webpage. Applications remain open until 11 pm on Monday January 12, 2026. Refer to requisition 121717 for Crew Member applications and requisition 121716 for Crew Leader applications.
Crew Leader requirements:
- Degree or diploma in an Outdoor Recreation, Tourism, Forestry or Natural Resource Management or
- Grade 12 graduation (or GED) and two years of relevant work or volunteer experience.
Crew Member requirements:
Grade 12 graduation (or GED) and one of the following:
- Partially complete, or completed degree or diploma in an Outdoor Recreation Management or a Natural Resource Management related field and 4 months (full time) related work or volunteer experience
- Six months (full time) related work or volunteer experience
