Jumping Creek to Jack MacDonald Snowshed

The project involves the design and construction of improvements to 2.6 km of the Trans-Canada Highway 1 approximately 40 kilometres east of Revelstoke, including rockfall and avalanche mitigation, climate change resiliency and median divider and roadside barrier.

Location

The project is adjacent to the recently completed Illecillewaet and extends to the western end of the MacDonald Snowshed.

All closures are dependent on weather between Revelstoke and Golden. If the full closure does not occur, expect short duration stoppages to facilitate equipment crossings.

A divider to limit cross-over collisions
Roadside barrier to reduce severity of off road right collisions
Modern 100 km/hr highway geometrics
Avalanche and geohazard risk mitigation
