Pay your notice of disentitlement

Last updated on April 9, 2024

Grant applications are audited for up to 7 years to make sure taxpayers are eligible for the grants they receive.

If we determine through an audit that you received a home owner grant amount you were not entitled to, we will issue you a Notice of Disentitlement. The notice explains why you are not entitled to the grant amount you received, shows the outstanding balance and when you must pay this amount in full.

If you want to appeal the Notice of Disentitlement to the Minister of Finance, your payment must still be paid in full by the due date.

How to pay

You can pay your outstanding balance

Bank or financial institution

You can pay your outstanding balance through the bank, credit union or other financial institution you have an account with. When you pay through your bank or financial institution, we recommend that you confirm when your payment will be processed to avoid additional interest. For example, banks will often process payments received in the afternoon with the date of the next business day.

There are three ways you can pay through your bank or financial institution:

Bill payment service

Most banks and financial institutions offer bill payment services for their clients. Bill payment services can generally be accessed through your online banking account, an automated teller machine (ATM), telephone banking or in person with a teller at the financial institution that you bank with.

To pay using a bill payment service you'll need the following information:
