Prevention Services represents an evolution in regulatory practice. Working with industry, workers, communities, and supporting organizations, Inspectors of Mines within Prevention Services will identify and respond to complex and emerging health and safety challenges, develop educational resources and training, and support province-wide prevention initiatives. Prevention Services will also help share knowledge and leading practices across the sector, strengthening the industry's ability to proactively manage risk.
By creating dedicated prevention capacity, the Office of the Chief Inspector of Mines (OCIM) is reinforcing its commitment to protecting workers, supporting responsible mining, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety leadership throughout the industry.
Working alongside existing functions and expertise within the OCIM, Prevention Services is dedicated to helping prevent harm, build trust, and support safer workplaces through proactive and collaborative approaches to health and safety.
