Indigenous Engagement

The Ministry thanks those who provided comments and feedback on changes to the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) through consultation and engagement.

Previous Engagement

Ministry staff have engaged with Indigenous peoples on low carbon fuels through CleanBC, CleanBC Roadmap to 2030 (PDF, 9.24MB) and LCFS engagement sessions.

In past engagement and consultation, the Ministry:

  • distributed a discussion paper, notification letter, and consultation letters,
  • hosted one-on-one meetings and, 
  • participated in five virtual sessions and an in-person gathering.

During 2023 discussions on the LCFS the Ministry received feedback on:

  • Initiative Agreement and low carbon fuel opportunities,
  • affordability challenges in rural and remote communities and,
  • recommendations for addressing climate change.

The Ministry will continue to engage and consult on future updates to the LCFS.
