5.9 Retail Pricing Policy

General Policy Description

For certain products, PharmaCare covers the retail price of the product.

Policy Details

For products subject to the Retail Pricing Policy, PharmaCare reimburses the retail price of the product with no dispensing fee.

Products subject to this policy include the following:

• Reimbursed up to a maximum of the manufacturer's suggested retail price for the product with no dispensing fee
  • Insulin pump cartridges/reservoirs
  • Insulin pump infusion sets
• Reimbursed at the regular retail price with no dispensing fee
  • Insulin - regular, long-acting, short-acting or rapid-acting acting insulin analogues
  • Needles/syringes for insulin therapy
  • Ostomy supplies
• Reimbursed at retail price up to the maximum retail price set by the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) with no dispensing fee
  • Plan W non-drug over-the-counter benefits
