Web policy and content standards
B.C. government's web content standards support accessible and inclusive design practices. Web content should:
- Help people access the information and services they need from government
- Communicate government policies and programs
Web content created for the B.C. government must follow the guidelines in the Web Standards and Guides and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Level AA. The only exception is the reading level of content, which must meet WCAG Level AAA. To make content accessible to everyone, write for a Grade 3 reading level.
Government Digital Experience (GDX) sets the standards for gov.bc.ca to deliver information and services to British Columbians with the authority described in Core Policies and Procedures Manual (CPPM) Chapter 22.
