Water Quality Guidelines
Ambient water quality guidelines are developed to assess and manage the health, safety and sustainability of B.C.’s aquatic resources. Water quality guidelines may be developed for the protection of aquatic life, wildlife, agriculture, drinking water sources and recreation.

Current guidelines approved in B.C. that serve as environmental benchmarks for safe levels of specific parameters across the province.
These guidelines provide benchmarks for those substances not yet fully assessed and formally endorsed in B.C.
