There are many places small business owners can look to for new business opportunities, practical advice, and helpful services. 

INDIGENOUS RESOURCES: 

 

A. Indigenous Business Development Services (IBDS) 

Providing entrepreneurial services to Indigenous Peoples in British Columbia through organizations across BC. Offering business development and capacity-building opportunities.

B.  All Nations Trust Company (ANTCO) 

ANTCO is an Indigenous-owned financial institution supporting Indigenous business owners and communities.  . They offer financial services such as business loans with supporting grants to assist Indigenous entrepreneurs who are looking to start, expand or grow their business.

A. Futurpreneur Canada 

Futurpreneur fosters the entrepreneurial passions of Canada’s diverse startup founders ages 18-39. They are the only national non-profit organization that provides young aspiring entrepreneurs across Canada with the loan financing, mentorship and resources they need to start or buy a business. They provide youth aged 18-39 with coaching before they start their business, as well as collateral-free financing with mentorship to help launch or buy successful businesses.

B.  CleanBC  

CleanBC helps small businesses in B.C. save money and grow in a low-carbon economy. By joining CleanBC, businesses can get ahead in the global market by investing in cleaner options and accessing new financing opportunities for environmentally friendly projects.

C. WeBC 

WeBC is a resource for B.C. women at all stages of business . Their team provides business loans to start, grow or buy a business. WeBC also offers workshops, business advisors, mentors, and other resources. They are a supportive community focused on helping women succeed in business. 

 

D.  Service BC  

Service BC provides services to individuals and businesses across the province. Staff can assist you in many ways, both online and in-person at one of the many Service BC Centres. For example, they can help with forms or registrations and can even accept in person payments for some online services.

E.  FrontCounter BC  

FrontCounter BC is a service that can help with licences, permits, registrations and other authorizations needed to use the Province's natural resources.

F.  WorkBC 

WorkBC helps British Columbians prepare for and find a job. Available throughout the province, it offers a wide range of free employment services including personal employment planning and support, skills training, job search, and assistive technology. Employers can find help filling jobs and attracting talent.

G.  Innovation Canada  

The Accelerated Growth Service (AGS) by Innovation Canada helps clients and businesses access the support they need to grow and scale. By asking a few questions, Innovation Advisors can help you find, and take advantage of, the best options from federal and provincial supports. These include funding, loans, tax credits, wage subsidies, and more. Innovation Canada has advisors across the country who can use their network of contacts to help. They also have resources on topics from financing to technical advice to foreign market expertise.

H.  Community Futures British Columbia 

Community Futures British Columbia is the provincial association for the Community Futures Development Corporations in B.C., Through their 34 non-profit member offices, they provide business services and loans to new and experienced entrepreneurs in rural and remote communities and have been doing this since 1985.

M.  CRA Liaison Officer Service 

The CRA offers free Liaison Officer services to owners of small businesses and self-employed individuals to help them understand their tax obligations.
