Change a Catering licence

For Catering licensees who want to request changes to their licence.

Before you start

Be sure to read the submission instructions for the change you want to make.

You must have a Business BCeID to access the online licensing portal

Overview

As a Catering licensee, you can

  • Apply to make a permanent change to your licence
  • Notify us of a permanent change to a licensee
  • Add or change a tied house exemption
  • Add or change a third party operator
  • Submit a dormancy notification

Processing times for each change are approximate and may vary.

Some changes require a fee.

All changes can be completed online.

Apply to make a permanent change to a licensee

You must apply for the LCRB's approval within 10 days of making the changes listed below.

All changes must be completed online:

  • Change in ownership of shares
  • Name change of licensee (legal entity name)
  • Amalgamation of the corporation, holding company or subsidiary
  • Change of directors/officers/senior managers
    • Note: Each new director/officer must submit a Personal History Summary form online and upload the required documents including a Criminal Record Check.
  • Addition of receiver or executor

Use this form to apply for, or change an existing, tied house exemption with a small volume manufacturer.

Add or change a third party operator

A third-party operator is an individual, partnership or corporate entity hired by a licensee to manage their establishment.  The licensee remains accountable for the overall operation of the licensed establishment.

Dormancy notification

Notify us within 10 days of the closure or as soon as you become aware that the closure will be longer than 90 days.
