COVID-19 immunization schedule in B.C.
Getting immunized against COVID-19 requires multiple vaccine doses. Your immunization schedule may differ based on your age or health conditions.
Initial series: Dose 1 and 2
The initial COVID-19 vaccination series is two doses. Two doses are required to get your federal proof of vaccination for travel.
Information for children 5 to 11
Vaccines for children use a smaller dosage of the same vaccine used for youth and adults.
People who are immunocompromised
People with moderately to severely compromised immune systems need a third dose to complete their initial vaccine series.
Ongoing protection: Booster doses
Immunity fades over time. To maintain your protection against COVID-19, you need a booster dose 6 months after your second dose.
