The First Nations Government Exchange Program (FNGEP) facilitates temporary exchanges between the BC Public Service and B.C. First Nations governments.
The FNGEP was co-developed in partnership between the BC Public Service and B.C. First Nations governments and endorsed by the Head of the BC Public Service.
This program is open to current BC Public Service employees. Opportunities for BC Public Service employees to go on a work exchange with a B.C. First Nations government may be launched through the Recruitment Management System or through internal expressions of interest as appropriate to the position. The program also includes opportunities for B.C. First Nations government employees to go on a work exchange into the BC Public Service.
The program supports the Province’s commitment to reconciliation and improving recruitment and retention of Indigenous Peoples across the BC Public Service, in alignment with Action 3.2 of the Declaration Act Action Plan. Additionally, it supports commitments within the Racial Diversity in the BC Public Service report, including improving programs and policies to remove barriers for Indigenous and racialized people.
