Bonuses for nurses

Ancillary bonus

A biweekly allowance of $23 is paid to nurses who acquire and maintain registration under both the Health Professions Act and Nurses (Registered) and Nurse Practitioners Regulation.

Academic bonus

Bonuses are paid biweekly for the acquisition of academic qualifications from a recognized university in Canada or the United States:

Postgraduate certificate or diploma program of a minimum of one academic year related to nursing practice or to the supervision of nurses*

* A certificate, diploma or degree similar in content granted by an educational facility outside Canada or the United States is recognized at the rate equivalent to the appropriate qualification listed.

These bonuses are not cumulative. Where an employee has more than one qualification eligible for allowance, they will receive the amount shown for the highest qualification received.
