Overview

The coaching services team leads the implementation of an organizational coaching strategy, focused on embedding a coaching mindset and skillset within BC Public Service to support leaders at all levels to drive organizational change.

The team works closely with ministry and BC Public Service Agency partners, providing expert advice, coaching and training.


The team

 

Avril Harkness-Miller, coaching services manager 

Avril Harkness-Miller is program manager and lead for the coaching services team. Avril is a certified coach and HR professional with 22 years experience advising, coaching and training leaders in the BC Public Service.

Avril is a certified Fierce Conversations Facilitator and has designed and delivered many training courses, keynotes and webinars for leaders focused on building essential coaching skills and leadership competencies.

Prior to moving to Canada in 2000, Avril began her career as a psychology researcher at Strathclyde University in Scotland, with a passion for understanding human behaviour and designing organizational strategies that support employees to thrive and reach their full potential.

Avril has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in occupational psychology.

 

 

Adonica Sweet, organizational coaching consultant

Adonica Sweet is an organizational coaching consultant specializing in the development of coaches and leaders who use a coaching approach in their leadership style.

As a master certified coach (MCC) recognized by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), Adonica is an expert in coaching and shares that expertise with coaches and leaders by coaching, mentoring, advising and training them to show up with intentional presence and foster positive results within their teams and organization.

Adonica’s passion for inspiring and empowering people grew through thirty plus years in the human services field. She has worked with diverse populations in the public and private sectors.

Adonica has been recognized for her leadership and ability to move individuals and organizations through transitions, manage resistance, embrace change and navigate conflict.

Adonica co-founded a corporation that operated an award-winning tour business, Ogopogo Tours, that provided the 'best tour ever' by being unique, boutique, inclusive and sustainable.

 

 

Alexis Eagles, organizational coaching consultant

Alexis Eagles is an organizational coaching consultant with over 25 years of experience as a human resource professional. 

Alexis' educational background is primarily in the areas of business administration and HR management and she is a certified coach and facilitator. 

With a deep understanding of workplace culture, Alexis provides expert advice to HR professionals, leaders and internal coaches and proactively collaborates with strategic HR teams and other PSA service lines to design strategies and solutions that integrate coaching practices and accelerate leadership development.

Alexis has a wealth of experience providing individual, group and team coaching services to employees at all levels and now shares her expertise by mentoring and developing internal coaches.

Alexis is also a skilled facilitator and brings her passion for coaching into every course she delivers.

 

 

Marianna Dowhaniuk, senior leadership coach 

Marianna is a certified executive coach and a senior leadership coach with the BC Public Service Agency. She is committed to helping people reach their goals by recognizing and embracing their strengths, as well discovering solutions to their challenges.

Marianna has enjoyed working as a manager, trainer, facilitator and coach in both public and private organizations for over 20 years. Whether working with teams or individuals, Marianna’s enthusiasm for growth and learning promotes expansion through the lens of possibility.

Marianna has a M.Sc. degree in adult education and a human resources certificate. In addition, she acquired a graduate certificate in executive coaching from Royal Roads University in 2001.                                                      

Marianna is also certified in the Myers Briggs type indicator, EQI (emotional intelligence), the Strong-Campbell interest inventory, organizational transitions, situational leadership, CINERGY conflict coaching, and the Coaching Clinic. 

 

 

Nichole Grenier, senior leadership coach 

Nichole is a certified executive coach, a certified CINERGY conflict management coach and a coaching clinic graduate from Corporate Coach U. 

Nichole has been coaching leaders from executives to clergy since 2003.  As a 25 year BC public servant, Nichole has held leadership roles with the Ministry of Finance and the BC Public Service Agency including as director and executive Recruiter. Nichole has acted as executive director and assistant deputy minister on numerous occasions.

Nichole is a certified professional accountant who holds a Bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Ottawa and has completed the executive program in public sector leadership from Royal Roads University.

Nichole began her career in the private sector including roles as corporate controller for a school district and a conglomerate of international publishing companies.  As associate faculty at Royal Roads University, Nichole coached MBA learner teams and designed and delivered courses on team building, multicultural communication and coaching skills.

Nichole is a certified heart of coaching facilitator based on Thomas Crane’s book The Heart of Coaching: Using Transformational Coaching to Create a High-Performance Coaching Culture

 

 

Terri Trevors, organizational coaching consultant

Terri Trevors is an organizational coaching consultant with over 30 years of experience as a human resources professional working in a variety of ministries throughout the BC Public Service. She has a genuine passion for coaching and leadership development and uses her experience to support individuals and leaders to achieve their goals. 

Terri provides coaching support and expert advice to HR professionals, leaders and internal coaches. She collaborates with others to design leadership strategies and solutions that include coaching practices and skill development to ultimately accelerate results and outcomes. 

Terri is a certified BC Public Service coach, a Cinergy © conflict coach, a Fierce © facilitator and has completed the Dale Carnegie © Instructor program.  She is a skilled facilitator who enjoys engaging meaningfully with individuals and leaders.
