Highway between Mt. Lehman Road and Highway 11

Design is underway on the Mainline East Project.

Project highlights

  • Widening approximately 4.6 km of Highway 1
  • Adding HOV/EV and bus-on-shoulder lanes eastbound and westbound
  • Enhancing active transportation features at Clearbrook Road Interchange and McCallum Road Interchange
  • Addition of a multi-use path from McCallum Road to Salton Road on the south side, parallel to Highway 1

Status

The Mainline East Project is in construction. Anticipated completion 2031.

Cost

The contract value for the Mainline East Project is $118 million. The contract was awarded to Jakes Construction.
