Highway 11 interchange and highway widening

Construction is underway on the Highway 11 Interchange Project.

Project highlights

  • Replacing the existing Highway 11 Interchange
  • Replacing the overpass carrying Highway 1 over Riverside Road, CPKC Rail and Southern Railway of BC tracks
  • Widening approximately 2.1 km of Highway 1
  • Adding HOV/EV and bus-on-shoulder lanes in both directions
  • Adding a truck climbing lane westbound
  • Improving active transportation connections

Status

The Highway 11 Interchange Project is in construction. Anticipated completion 2031.

Cost

The Contract value for the Highway 11 Interchange Project is $242 million.

The contract was awarded to Metro Vancouver (Infrastructure) Partnership, a joint venture between Hall Constructors, Jacob Bros., and EBC Inc.
