Report a wildfire

Immediately call 1 800 663-5555 toll-free, or *5555 on a cell phone to report wildfires, smoke columns and violations of wildfire regulations in British Columbia.

Alternatively, file a report electronically through the BC Wildfire Service App. The official BC Wildfire Service Mobile App is available for free in the App Store and on Google Play

Burn registration line

Anyone conducting a Category 3 open burn must have a burn registration number. 

To obtain a burn registration number, please complete the Online Burn Registration Form.
This is the fastest way to obtain a burn registration number. 

If you are unable to complete the online form, email the burn registration office at HPR.1800@gov.bc.ca or call 1-888-797-1717.

News organizations looking to report on B.C.'s wildfire situation can contact the BC Wildfire Service information team.

Provincial and regional information officers are available by email or phone to:

  • arrange and conduct interviews
  • provide backgrounders, photos and B-roll
  • arrange access to fire sites
